The Vale of Berkeley Railway is now wholly located at Oldminster Sidings, Sharpness, where we are creating our new operations and heritage centre. Oldminster Sidings is currently a construction site, so to ensure your safety, you must contact us first if you wish to visit. You're welcome to come and discover our plans and progress on our usual working days of Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10am to 4pm. A volunteer will guide you and answer your questions.

Volk's Electric Railway

Volk's Electric Railway

Brighton, East Sussex,

Situated in the seaside town of Brighton, the Railway was constructed by inventor and son of a clockmaker, Magnus Volk, and first opened to the public in 1883. The route runs for one mile along Brighton seafront, with three stations where passengers can alight. Trains run frequently from March to October and for special events throughout the rest of the year.
