Enjoy views of sheep grazing on the riverside slopes, with woodland old and new and buzzards wheeling overhead. During your visit, take a short guided tour of the railway's headquarters at Maespoeth and look into the workshops to see where restoration and maintenance take place. Back at Corris station, explore the free museum and gift shop. The museum includes original slate-carrying wagons and a unique exhibit – a 'chicken' that lives inside a rescued original Corris Railway carriage. Families are well catered for, with 'small world' play toys, a children's playground, and a fun family quiz. Lucky young visitors might even get to blow the whistle and wave the green flag. The railway is run entirely by volunteers – fully trained and passionate about both trains and people. They are always happy to share their knowledge and make your visit memorable.
