Celebrate 200 years of passenger railways at our Autumn Steam Gala from 31 October to 2 November 2025. Enjoy three days of intensive steam action with guest locomotives, brake van rides, and a display of vintage road steam engines.

We are delighted to welcome an impressive line-up of locomotives for this year's Steam Gala, headlined by GWR Castle Class No. 4079 Pendennis Castle - the most powerful steam engine ever to work on our line. Also in action will be GWR 0-6-2T No. 6695, USA Class 2-8-0 No. 6046, and Sentinel 7109 Joyce. Together they will operate an intensive timetable, tackling steep gradients such as the 1-in-68 climb out of Chinnor. Brake van rides at Princes Risborough, hauled by Joyce, are included in your ticket for an authentic extra experience.

Adding to the atmosphere, Chinnor station will host a gathering of seven visiting road steam engines, including rollers, traction engines, a showman's engine, a ploughing engine and a steam lorry. With plenty to see on the tracks and in the yard, plus unlimited travel with your rover ticket, this will be an unforgettable three-day celebration of steam.
