Come and join us for one of our Signalling Experience Days. This exciting day offers the chance to take part in the signalling of our regular service trains on selected dates throughout the year. BRONZE SIGNALLING EXPERIENCE Under the close supervision of your dedicated box host and signalmen, you will have the opportunity to operate the signal levers which control the points and signals as trains arrive and depart from our Holt terminus station. Your experience day will include an introduction to signalling principles, instruction of signalling techniques and practical signalling experience. Before you attend your experience day, we will send you a copy of our Signalling Principles information guide, so that you can swat up and sound like a pro before you go! Along with a full day experience running between 9am – 5pm participants will receive lunch prepared by the North Norfolk Railway and a certificate of participation, which will be presented at the end of the day. Please note, the course does NOT include overnight accommodation. SILVER SIGNALLING EXPERIENCE Our in – depth ‘SILVER’ Signal Experience weekend will give you a greater insight into the signalling function. On the first day, a dedicated Signalling Inspector, will instruct you on the principles of signalling, followed by visits to all three signal boxes along the line. You will spend the second day in a signalbox, signalling trains supervised by the duty signalman, putting in to practice what you have learned.
