Bluebell Railway 65th Anniversary Weekend
Bluebell Railway 65th Anniversary Weekend
Celebrate 65 years of railway preservation at the Bluebell Railway!
In 2025, Britain celebrates 200 years of railway history with Railway 200, a national series of events marking two centuries since the dawn of rail transport. As part of these celebrations, the Bluebell Railway is proud to host a special weekend event that also coincides with its own 65th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, we are staging a mini gala weekend packed with activity, featuring an intensive service run by our home fleet. The planned roster includes locomotives 72, 65, 32424, 80151, 73082, 34059 and E6040, all subject to availability.
There will be three train sets running between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes, and another three between Horsted Keynes and East Grinstead. Horsted Keynes will become a hub station, linking the northern and southern ends of the line and recreating the bustle of a working railway centre.
The celebrations will culminate in a special cavalcade through Horsted Keynes on Sunday afternoon, showcasing a variety of rolling stock and offering a rare treat for enthusiasts and visitors alike.
Whether you're a long-time Bluebell supporter or simply looking to experience the sights and sounds of heritage railways in action, this weekend offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the past, present and future of Britain's railways.
