A variety of locomotives that make up the Poppy Line’s home fleet are scheduled to be in action for this weekend showcasing the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Society and the North Norfolk Railway. The event will see a varied schedule of passenger trains featuring the line’s unique collection of beautifully restored historic carriages.

Join us at our Autumn Showcase weekend on 5 and 6 October for a steam and diesel celebration!

This year’s line up is scheduled to feature up to 6 locomotives and a DMU operating a frequent timetable that utilises many of the historic rail vehicles in the care of the North Norfolk Railway and the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Society.

Amongst the rolling stock out at the weekend will be the railway’s train of unique 4- and 6- wheeled carriages dating from Victorian times will be running along with the unique “Quad-Art†set. The LNER teak-bodied, articulated carriages underwent periodic maintenance in the early half of 2022, including re-varnishing, and have now been returned to their 1920s glory.

Refreshments will be available at each station and onboard certain trains including our popular breakfast baps on selected morning trains. The Gresley 1930s art deco buffet car dating from the 1930s will be included in some afternoon trains serving real ale.
