Llangollen Railway

Llangollen Railway
Llangollen Railway is a heritage railway that runs for 10 miles through the heart of the Dee Valley, starting at Llangollen Station and travelling upstream to Corwen. The line closely follows the River Dee, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, and lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering passengers a scenic and peaceful journey through the Welsh countryside. Founded in 1975 by a dedicated group of volunteers, the railway has been painstakingly restored along the former Ruabon to Barmouth main line. Today, it provides a memorable experience for visitors of all ages, with historic steam and diesel locomotives, traditional stations, and a strong connection to the area's rich railway heritage. The route includes river crossings, rural halts, and opportunities to explore the local landscape, making it a perfect day out for families, enthusiasts, and holidaymakers alike.
