Great Central Railway (Nottingham)

Great Central Railway (Nottingham)
Once part of the Great Central Main Line between Sheffield and London, today the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) offers nearly six miles of preserved railway from Ruddington Fields towards Loughborough. Heritage steam and diesel services run on selected days, giving visitors the chance to enjoy the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of classic train travel. The line includes Rushcliffe Halt and the branch into the extensive heritage depot at Ruddington, home to locomotives, carriages, and wagons under restoration. The railway is entirely volunteer-run, with all income supporting the preservation of railway and transport heritage for future generations. Whether travelling on a service train, exploring the site, or joining as a volunteer, there’s plenty to discover.
