Cambrian Heritage Railways

Cambrian Heritage Railways offers a relaxing journey through the Shropshire countryside, with trains running between Oswestry station and Weston Wharf. Located in the heart of historic Oswestry, the railway provides the opportunity to explore a range of heritage features, including a railway museum, restored signal box, and period stations. Oswestry station is close to the town centre, with its market and castle, making it an ideal starting point for a wider visit. The railway operates from Easter to autumn, with Santa Specials in November and December. Day Rover tickets are available, giving unlimited travel for the day on one ticket. Driver Experience courses, group travel, and coach parties are also catered for. Trains are operated by a mix of steam, vintage diesel, and diesel multiple units. The 1.75-mile route leads to Weston Wharf, where the period station includes a cafe, picnic area, and displays of railway artefacts. The Stonehouse Brewery is located next door, and the Weston Pools Village complex is a short walk away. Visitors wishing to eat there should book directly with the venue. The Llynclys Railway Centre operates on selected dates from Llynclys South station, with additional areas and buildings open to the public during special events and Heritage Open Days.
