Railway 200 Open Weekend
Railway 200 Open Weekend
Join us to celebrate 200 years of rail travel in the UK.
Celebrate 200 years of Rail Travel by stepping back in time and riding through railway history across six incredible heritage sites between GCR and GCRN at the Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, connected by steam trains and vintage heritage buses. This exciting weekend is packed with family fun, historical discovery, and hands-on experiences — the perfect day out for rail fans of all ages.
All of our beautifully restored period stations will be open for you to explore with activity packs for children and mainline steam and diesel train rides available all weekend. With a range of story boards, re-enactments, displays, demonstrations and so much more there is something for all ages over the weekend.
If you live in an NG, LE or DE postcode you can take advantage of a massive 50% off ticket prices. Tickets start at just £6 including discount for site access and just £18 including discount to include unlimited travel by train on the day. What’s more Kids for a Quid tickets are on sale too!
