Step back in time at the Watercress Line's Retro Wheels and Rails event on 14-15 June 2025. Each station transforms into a different decade from the 1940s to the 1970s, with vintage music, vehicles, activities, and heritage train rides through the Hampshire countryside.

Travel through time on the Watercress Line this 14–15 June 2025 with Retro Wheels and Rails – a nostalgic journey from the 1940s to the 1970s. Each station along the heritage railway will reflect a different decade: the 1940s at Ropley, 1950s at Medstead and Four Marks, 1960s at Alresford, and 1970s at Alton. Expect live music, vintage vehicles, hands-on activities including an interactive period telephone challenge, a 1940s encampment, and unlimited rides on steam and diesel trains. Attractions also include a miniature railway, behind-the-scenes access, food and drink outlets, gift shops, and children’s activities such as pottery painting and a playground. Vintage attire is welcome but not required. Activities run from 10.30am to 4.30pm daily. Advance booking recommended for the best value tickets.
