Set to be one of our biggest events since opening. This fantastic gala brings together a combination of intensive passenger services, demonstration goods trains, model railways, miniature traction engines, and more. Its going to be a good one, so make sure to save it in your diary.

Set to be one of the biggest events since our original opening in 2010, the BMR15 Gala is a celebration of the railway’s achievements over its 15-year history. We’re planning a mix of steam, diesel, and battery-electric locomotives running across our entire network. Services will operate from Burtonshaw to Sitooterie and Angel Green, as well as the Glen Dowd branch line from Belvedere to Lake End. The Barnards Miniature Railway will be running train services throughout the weekend. Gates open at 11:00, with the last train departing at 16:00. Trains will run at regular intervals throughout the day. To avoid longer waiting times, we recommend arriving after we’ve opened, as the railway tends to be busiest at 11:00.

Return tickets (one full ride of the railway) cost £7. Rover tickets (unlimited rides all day) are £10. The same rate applies for adults and children, and under 3s travel free. No booking is required—just turn up on the day. Contactless payment only.

Barnards Miniature Railway is located at Barnards Farm, Brentwood, CM13 3FY, with free on-site parking available. Feel free to bring a picnic and use the tables and seating. Light refreshments will be available at our Burtonshaw Terminus station.

Please note: Dogs are not permitted unless they are guide dogs. The gardens will be closed to the public on this day, so there is no garden entry fee—just the railway ticket.
