Celebrate steam in full action with an intensive timetable of heritage locomotives running along the scenic River Dart.

The Winter Steam Gala brings a great chance to experience powerful steam locomotives working hard along our historic GWR branch line. With the trees bare for winter, views of the river and surrounding hills are more dramatic than ever as the train winds down the valley between Buckfastleigh and Totnes. Warm, steam-heated carriages provide a comfortable place to sit back and enjoy the spectacle.

At Buckfastleigh, visitors can use the free car park and explore the station area before boarding. Totnes Riverside station is a short riverside walk from the National Rail station, making the gala easy to reach by public transport. Light refreshments are available on selected services, adding to a memorable day with classic steam.
